Blake Berglund

Blake Berglund is a Saskatchewan based songwriter, producer, and label founder known for his independent approach to country music. Raised on the edge of Moose Mountain Provincial Park, Berglund has built a career rooted in authenticity, releasing six studio albums, including What’s Left of the Right (2024), a 20-track double LP and the first release on Western Seer Records, the label he co-founded with Melanie Berglund (Belle Plaine).
His work has earned support slots with Dwight Yoakam, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, and The Dead South, and recognition from the Western Canadian Music Awards, Saskatchewan Music Awards, and SCMA. As a producer and mentor, Berglund has guided emerging songwriter Lachlan Neville, whose debut self-titled album and documentary, The Making of Lachlan Neville (2025), mark the label’s first outside master acquisition. Berglund’s credits include collaborations with Belle Plaine and a featured performance on Colter Wall’s Songs of the Plains. Beyond music, he writes regularly on his Substack, The Straight & The
Narrow, and produces film projects focused on rural life and music culture.
Incorporated in 2025, Western Seer Records was nominated for Music Company of the Year at the Saskatchewan Music Awards and serves as a platform for developing new voices in country and roots music. Focused on diversifying within the creative industries, Berglund’s work spans music, writing, and film, building a model for independent artists to retain control of their art while expanding into
publishing, production, and media.
