Christopher & the Saints

Christopher & the Saints are a trio from Saskatoon, SK on beautiful Treaty Six Territory. Starting life as the Christopher James Vasseur band, the sound evolved as did the line up. It morphed and bloomed into the base trio of Peter Abonyi (Lead Guitar), Nicholas Chelsom McCormick (Bass) and CJV (Vocals and Guitar). As the band found its footing, a listener (all three share hosting duties on CFCR’s The Guitar Show) pointed out that they all had “Saintly '' names. So, Christopher & the Saints were born. After spending the summer of 2023 doing a run of solo shows, CJV is back with the band and working on new material. They are set to release the first Saints single in December 2023 and have already booked a slew of festivals for summer 2024 including the great Salt Shaker hosted by The Garrys at Manitou Beach. In January, the band is set to compete in Blackrose Whiskey Club’s very first “Battle of the Bands”. Their music can be heard on CBC Radio as well as CFCR Community Radio in Saskatoon. Their live shows are intimate but can often include musical friends joining them on stage for a song or two.
