Fabian Minnema

Gracing Saskatchewan stages for many years, Fabian Minnema first made an impact on the Western Canadian music scene with Johnny Grit, an indie-surf-rock band that shared the stage with many Canadian artists, including legendary Blues guitarist David Wilcox. After releasing two full-length albums, Johnny Grit morphed into Make Liars, a powerhouse trio that were regulars with the Saskatchewan International Jazz Festival, along with popular Saskatchewan venues such as Lydia’s and Bud’s in Saskatoon and Lancaster’s and McNally’s in Regina. As the band’s fanbase grew with ever-increasing popularity, Make Liars found themselves opening for huge artists such as 54-40 and the Trews. Whether it’s with his trusty Gold Strat, his Fender P-Bass, singing or behind the drum-kit, Fabian Minnema has not only collaborated and recorded with numerous local and national acts (most notably Anderson Burke, Oral Fuentes, The Ray Elliott Band and Pearl), his talents as a multi-instrumentalist, song-writer, arranger and producer shine through with his much anticipated and soon to be released solo album. When Fabian is not on the stage or in the recording studio, you can find him on the air-waves hosting numerous programs on CFCR
