Moonshine Mamas

This twin sister duo, based in Alberta, grew up around music. Their parents were in an oldies country band called Moonshine County. You could say they are second-generation Moonshiners. They spent Sunday mornings raiding the band bus for leftover snacks, and then their job was to unload the gear and set up mama’s drum kit.

They started a few different musical projects throughout grade school and their college years. But it wasn’t until they both became mothers that they found their true voice and passion. Having daughters of their own, they aim to send the message to young women everywhere that they are enough and to be confident in who they are.

“We’ve learned from experience that ‘nice girls’ finish last. We are here to tell our stories through our music and hope to inspire other women to be strong and follow their dreams unapologetically.”

Moonshine Mamas’ debut single, Let ‘er Die, hit #1 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown and climbed to #5 on the Canadian Online Radio Chart in early 2022 which included other Canadian bands such as The Tragically Hip and The Sheepdogs.

Their second single, Last Call, is a song about looking for love in all the wrong places and not giving up even though your heart has broken many times. Pour another drink and dive right in on October 29th, 2022!

They have performed all around Alberta, from Edmonton down to Medicine Hat. They were most notably a part of Sirroma Entertainments Diamonds in the Rough showcase during the 2019 CCMA week.

As with many musicians, the pandemic threw a wrench in the mamas’ performance schedule, so they started an online series, Moonshine Mondays, to stay connected with their audience. Now that things are open again, this quirky duo is getting back out there and are excited to show the world what being a rockin’ mama is all about.
